Apple Safari Browser on Windows

What is Safari? It is a browser. It is a platform. It is an open invitation to innovation. Safari expands the boundaries of the Internet and gives you also a world-class user experience.

It is now possible to download and install Apple’s Safari Web browser on your Windows platform. Note that the client is in beta and therefore probably, but it works flawless on most machines.

Apple Safari can be downloaded from here.

InfraRecorder: Open Source CD Burning for Windows XP/Vista

InfraRecorderI have been looking for a complete open source burning application for quite a while now. Infra Recorder seems to be the solution – (I found it listed here) – not only open source, but it has a very well designed user interface – much better and faster than Nero and like proprietary burning applications and programs. In terms of CD-recording Infra Recorder is capable of doing almost any thing and it matches Nero in many ways.

InfraRecorder is a free CD/DVD burning solution for Microsoft Windows. It offers a wide range of powerful features; all through an easy to use application interface and Windows Explorer integration.

  • Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE).

Screencasting in Windows XP and Vista

CamStudio LogoFrom time to time it is convenient to be able to capture and record screen activities. I have searched through Google many times and tried many different tools and applications, but none of them has met my requirements; user friendly light open source application for fast high quality and resolution capturing and able to achieve high compression to ease distribution. So far the best screencasting application is CamStudio – an easy to use light weight capturing application. CamStudio is able to capture full screen resolution screencasts and encode directly into Xvid and DivX.

X11 for Windows XP and Vista

Xming running gedit on Windows XPI have spent many hours looking for a open source X11 Window System for Windows (win32), but many of the projects i found was either incomplete or based on proprietary code – except the Xming project, which is the leading Free Software and unlimited X Window server for Microsoft Windows including Windows Server 2003 and the “new” Windows Vista.

Xming is compared to many other X11 Windows Systems for Windows small and fast because it is natively compiled for Microsoft Windows. For transport Xming uses SSH, which includes Putty.
