Even if you have big computer with huge amounts of RAM and CPU power you might not be able to play demanding 3D games if you have an Intel 900 GMA graphics with 192 MB of memory or 950 GMA graphics with 256 MB of memory. Memory is only one thing, there are few more things that your graphic chip or graphic card must have.

* Vertex Shader; either Software Vertex Shaders or Hardware Vertex Shaders
* Hardware Transform And Lighting
* Hardware Rasterizing

The features of the 900 GMA (915 motherboard) and 950 GMA (945 motherboard) graphics chipsets
* 3D Acceralation: Yes
* Video Memory: 192 MB For 900 GMA And 256 MB For 950 GMA
* Pixel Shader: 2.0
* Vertex Shader: 3.0 (It features a Software Vertex Shader)
* Hardware Rasterising: Yes
* Hardware Transform & Lighting: No ( Usually provided by the CPU or 3D Analyze could be used)

So all in all the requiered features are satisfied for the games Of 2006-2008 era, except one where 915 or 945 fails. These games require hardware Vertex Shaders and the 915 Or 945 Chipsets only features Software Vertex Shaders.

List of games support by Intel GMA 900, GMA 950, 915 or 945 GL/GV/GM Based Chipsets and workaround solutions in order to get the games working using Intel GMA 900, GMA 950, 915 or 945 GL/GV/GM hardware.

Most of the solutions requires 3D Analyze, which is a powerful application that allows to play many DirectX based games using video hardware officially unsupported and theoretically unable to run these.

3D Analyze can be downloaded here.

Some solutions require a software based shader. One solution was to use swShader, which was the precursor to TransGaming’s SwiftShader software 3D rasterizer. However it is no longer available from SourceForge, since it moved into a commercial product. Please see http://www.transgaming.com/products/swiftshader/ for additional info.

Very helpful information, but actually the list is missing some other titles, I dont know how many, but I’ve played Call Of Cthulhu Dark Corners Of The Earth and Cold Fear (3DA Emulate Other Direct X 8.1Caps, Emulate HW TnL Caps & Force SW TnL) on Intel GMA 950, I also played TRL at almost maximun configuration without problems.

Just in case you need that info.

Increase FPS for IGP Intel GMA in Doom 3

Description:

The patch is intended for increase in productivity of series IGP Intel GMA in Doom3. In difference from numerous clones, r e a l l y increases FPS in ~1,5-3 time (for \Ultra Perf). The patch has been tested on GMA 900 and 950. (It is possible, it so well works on others IGP Intel.) changes have been brought in files Autoexec.cfg and Interaction.vfp. In a case autoexec.cfg essential gain FPS can be observed so for processors Nvidia and Radeon. Changes in interaction.vfp give gain FPS o n l y for IGP Intel.

Profiles:

UltraPerf – good productivity without quality falling.
ValuePerf – maximum productivity with insignificant deterioration.

Installation:

Copy a file from directories \Value_Perf or \Ultra_Perf (on a choice) in the directory \Base of Doom3. I recommend take advantage \Ultra_Perf\zpak100.pk4 and mine DoomConfig.cfg for maximum productivity.

the settings for pop sands of time:

first you need to have 3d analyzer 2.34v

then select all the opengGL fully

and select both textures and shaders in antidetect mode

quality mode in remove stuttering

select all the game fixes

in performance force zbuffer

in hardware limits emulate HW TnL caps, emulate pixel shader caps

and the last one select force 24bit zbuffer(with stencil) in the zbuffer.

with this settings your game will work flawlessly.

i think 915 is really like 945 , except shared memory that in 945 is double
i had problem with white ground in farcry1 and then i found this Solution :

just install patch1.3 there is no need for swiftshader or 3Danalyzer
if you have any problem for installing this patch you can use
“Universal Extractor” for extract your setup :

First run setup.exe then go to your Temp folder if your windows is in “c”

copy ” Far Cry (Patch 1.3).msi ” to your desktop (for easy lunch)
now run UniExtract
in section “archive/installer” choose ” Far Cry (Patch 1.3).msi ” that copied on your desktop
in “destination directory” select any folder that you like
after extract go to the destination directory –> program files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry
select all folders and replace it in your game’s folder
enjoy it.
