BisonCam ( ALi M5603C ) Linux driver

It seems that the ALi M5603C chip is more common than I first thought. Today I found out that it’s not only the BisonCam, but also these products that are also built on the ALi M5603C chip

If you know one not listed here – leave a comment

Until now I only found this project developing a Linux driver for ALi USB2 M5603C Video Camera Controllers

    I am introducing a new consumer electronics product that works fine on the PC but we need an OS X driver for it desperately! It is based on the ALI M5603C Chipset… anyone have any suggestions out there? Anyone know of any freelancers that could be contracted to write the driver?

    Please write to: maclifer [AT} gmail {DOT} {COM}

    THANK YOU!!!!

    well, according to the good folk at linux-project dot org:

    Re: ALi USB2 M5603C support
    The developemnt is suspended for now. The skeleton of the driver is ready, but there are some problems with the initialization part which make the driver unuseful at the moment.

    That was on the 21st of october. This is with respect to all the ALi chipset webcams mentioned above.

    In collaberation with others wanting a driver for the m5603/m5602 I’ve setup a website to act as the focal point for a project. We will attack the problem on two fronts – by lobbying Ali and creating a new driver from scratch. Hopefully one or both will have some success. We are looking for everyone wanting the M560x driver to contribute information and/or programming skills.

    Ideally we would look to create an open source driver which could be incorporated into the kernel or a related package.
